I cannot tell a lie. Well I can, but I try not to. Well I stretch the truth and use hyperbole more than I should. Perhaps it comes from growing in in a story telling culture where the added detail or increased 'size of fish' is common. Either way... I am rambling. As for the lie, I have to admit that John Prine was until recent years, one of the songwriters I had missed out on. For years I recall folks at live shows requesting a John Prine tune. I always said I would learn some of his music just due to the sheer volume of fans that request his material. IN the last few years I have dedicated some of my listening time to the music of John Prine. I started with the new "Tree Of Forgiveness" and got sucked in on many levels. When I watched the "House Of Strombo" show I fell in love so hard. I invite you to watch that presentation below and as well here is a video from The Goats and I doing Summer's End. Enjoy
Last night's Whiskey Wednesday was so much fun. I cannot stress enough how good these weekly broadcasts have been for me. It has given my a great opportunity to stay in touch with folks and at the same time broaden my reach to whomever is out there and has interest. The crowds are small, but the vibe is good. Every week I am noticing more and more folks coming out of the wood work and joining in. So much thanks for the regulars who are helping my to reach new audience members.
